Gift Card Terms & Conditions

Available values and payment

Gift cards are available in values from £5 to £100 in £5 increments.

The purchaser pays the selected face value. No activation fee, hidden purchase fee or electronic-delivery fee is added.

Electronic delivery only

All Engraved Society gift cards are electronic and are sent to the recipient email address supplied by the purchaser.

The purchaser is responsible for checking that the recipient name and email address are correct before completing the order. Delivery may be immediate or scheduled for a chosen date where that option is available.

Redemption

Gift cards are redeemable online through the Engraved Society website against eligible products.

The unique gift-card code must be entered during checkout. A gift card cannot be used to purchase another gift card and cannot be redeemed in the same transaction as any coupon or voucher code.

Partial use and remaining balance

The full value does not need to be used in one transaction. Any unused balance remains available on the same gift-card code until it is fully spent or the gift card expires.

No cash change is provided where the order value is lower than the available balance.

Expiry

Each gift card is valid for 365 days from its original purchase date. The expiry date will be shown in the electronic gift-card email where supported.

Using part of the balance does not extend, renew or restart the expiry period. Any unused balance remaining after expiry will no longer be available.

Coupons and voucher codes

Gift cards cannot be redeemed in the same transaction as any coupon, promotional code or voucher code.

If a coupon or voucher code has been entered at checkout, it must be removed before the gift-card code can be applied.

Electronic delivery and shipping charges

A gift card purchased on its own is delivered electronically by email, so no postage or shipping charge applies.

If physical products are purchased in the same order, the normal delivery charges and free-shipping rules for those physical products may still apply.

No cash exchange or resale

Gift cards and unused balances cannot be exchanged for cash, refunded as cash, transferred for cash value or resold through Engraved Society, except where required by law.

Cancellation and refunds

Where a statutory right to cancel applies, a purchaser may request cancellation within 14 days of purchase provided the gift-card code has not been supplied, used or redeemed.

Where the purchaser asks for a digital gift card to be supplied before the cancellation period ends, cancellation rights may be affected once the code has been issued or used.

This does not affect any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Incorrect recipient details

Engraved Society is not responsible where an electronic gift card is sent to an incorrect email address supplied by the purchaser.

Please contact support promptly if an error is noticed before the gift card email has been sent.

Lost, stolen or unauthorised use

Gift cards and codes should be treated like cash and kept secure. Engraved Society is not normally responsible for a lost, stolen, copied, damaged or unauthorised gift-card code.

We simply do not replace lost cards. If a card is stolen, we will investigate and inform you of the outcome by email. If your expiry date has passed, we do not replace the gift card.

Fraud, misuse and technical errors

Engraved Society may refuse, suspend or cancel a gift card where fraud, unlawful activity, misuse, duplication, payment reversal or a technical pricing or issuing error is reasonably suspected.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated where reasonably necessary, including to comply with legal, security or operational requirements.

A change will not remove rights already acquired under applicable consumer law.
